E-Safety
E-safety is high priority at The Marlborough.
Through our PSHE curriculum learners are taught how to act safely online. The curriculum is designed around our learners and explores what safe relationships on and offline look like. We hold an annual E-Safety Week whereby learners have visitors and specific activities designed to explore different aspects of online safety and enjoying the internet appropriately.
As well as our learners being educated around this issue, all staff are trained in understanding the dangers around safeguarding and E-safety regularly as part of our mandatory CPD package for all staff.
Parents and Carers are encouraged to contact our SENDCO - Rhea Lovelock or our Lead DSL / Family Welfare Officer - Belinda Devlin if they feel they need any more information on how to set up parental controls on their devices at home. It is imperative we make sure our children are accessing appropriate information for the wonderful world wide web. Especially for learners with autism, when our learners have been exposed to something, just even once, this could have huge implications on their understanding of the world around them.
