Attendance
Absence from School
Children are required to attend school for 190 days each year. The Government’s target for attendance for Pupils is at least 95%.
Our registers close at 9.15am. If your child has not arrived at school by this time they will be marked as late.
If your child has a medical appointment that needs to be during the school day please bring confirmation of the appointment to the office/send in via email so that this can be recorded in the attendance registers.
How does your child’s attendance compare with this target?
The table below indicates how just a few days absence can result in children missing a significant number of lessons. It has been proven that children who miss a lot of school achieve less.

Pupil Absence
All absences should be reported to the school office on each individual day of an absence by 8.50am, unless a long-term absence has been reported. This can be done by phoning the office on 01634 338080 or using Studybugs.
It is parental responsibility to report any absence or lateness, please do not leave messages with the driver/escorts to pass on as this can create mixed messages.
The school office team will contact you by telephone call if we have not received notification by 9.15am. This contact is to ensure that the pupil is safe.
Holiday Leave
The Department for Education (DfE) are very clear in their expectations of schools and academies that parents or carers should not arrange family holidays during term time. They do, however, recognise that in exceptional circumstances it may be necessary for such holiday leave to be granted. Should you have such a need then your request should be in writing to the Headteacher. You will be notified in writing of the outcome of any such decision.
